Oscar Wilson Sifford
(January 1, 1926 - February 13, 2013)



Oscar Wilson Sifford, 87, of Huntington, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born January 1, 1926, in Huntington, a son of the late Rufus Franklin and Cora Bell Hopson Sifford. He is also preceded in death by one great grandson Tyler Blankenship, two brothers and four sisters. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 177, Barboursville. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Mildred Marie Davis Sifford; three daughters, Shirley Sparks of Gulfport, FL, Hazel (Bob) Taylor and Deborah (Steve) Bell both of Huntington; three sons, Johnny (Juanita) Sifford, Harvey (Janet) Sifford and Roger (Karen) Sifford all of Huntington; one sister, Ella Delena Gabriel of Wabash, IN; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews he loved dearly; and special friends Thomas Copley, Ryan Adkins, Brerry Jones and Ned Jones. Wilson was a very special man who will be greatly missed. Friends may visit from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville with Donald Ray Flowers officiating. Burial will follow in Sifford Cemetery, Huntington.
