Sarah Deacon Reed
(November 3, 1926 - May 30, 2013)

Sarah Deacon Reed, 86, of Huntington passed away May 30, 2013 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Lewis Memorial Baptist Church, by Dr. David Lemming. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park. She was born November 3, 1926 in Cabell County, a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson "A.J." Deacon and Mary Heise Deacon Eden. She was a retired employee of Huntington State Hospital, a longtime member of Lewis Memorial Baptist Church, and loved sewing, quilting, weaving, and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Waymon C. Reed, brother, Lony Deacon, and sisters, Betty Selby and Barbara Meadows. She is survived by three sons, Robin Reed and his wife, Ann, of Barboursville, Terry Reed and his wife, Stephanie of Wilmington, NC; and Britt Reed of Huntington; four grandchildren, Missy Reed and Heather Reed of Huntington, and Joel and Susanna Reed of Wilmington, NC. The family will receive visitors after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church.  Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, is in charge of arrangements.
