Obituary

Clovis Martin "Junior" Johnson Jr.
(June 24, 1962 - March 2, 2015)

On Monday, March 2, 2015, Mother's Boy was carried home on the wings of angels, reunited with his mother and a host of relatives and is now dining at the Master's table. Clovis Martin Junior Johnson Jr., 52, left this world of burden, holding his sisters hand until God reached down and took him home. His illness was brief, but the battle he fought was courageous until the end. Junior was born June 24, 1962, in Huntington, WV. He is the son of Clovis M. Johnson and Patricia Johnson. His mother taking her heavenly journey of June 15, 2014. He attended Green Acres Regional Center for 45 years and was Participant at ResCare to present. He attended Faith Gospel Mission and Moore's Chapel, and loved his church families. Junior's greatest honor was that he was made an Honorary Member of IUOE 132 for life, where his union brothers gave him great respect. Junior was a friend to everyone he met and all that met him soon fell in love with his little grin that immediately stole your heart. His love for people made him many friends, and the token of their friendship was the gift of hats, which he loved and prized throughout his life. The simplicity of love was made great by his amazing memory to know everyone who gave him a hat and what kind it was, and then asking, Did you bring me a pretty hat? He will be remembered for what he left behind, a legacy on unconditional love that knew no boundaries but made us better by letting us be part of his life. He is survived by his father, Clovis M. Johnson Sr. of Ashton, WV; his sister Lora Dawn (Johnson) Smith and Anthony C. Smith of Lesage, WV; his niece Kayla Dawn Smith-Leung and Gabriel K. Leung also of Lesage, WV. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Gladys Pack, Anna Brabson, Fred (Debbie) Fillinger, Roberta Fat girl Bailey, Jimmy (Sheila) Fillinger, Alice Fruitcake (John) McCormick, Gaylord (Eilean) Johnson, Myrtle (Bob) Gilliam, Benita (Berk) Simpson, and Wayne (Paula) Johnson. He is also preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Morris and Helen Johnson; maternal grandparents, Eloise (Homer) Fillinger and James Gibson; aunts, Lorilee Roten, Helen Sowards, Emma McCoy, Sharon Johnston, Betty Ball, and Kay Roach; uncles, Russell Johnson, Johnny Johnson, and Ricky Fillinger; and several cousins. A great appreciation for his Aunt Myrtle, cousins, Amy (Roach) Brunton, Beth Ann Maness and Mikell Chapman, as well as his dear friend Chelsea Bill Proper for their great devotion and care in his final days. Also we would like to give thanks to Hospice of Huntington for their support and care. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
