Geraldine "Geri" (Bernard) Meadows
(August 23, 1935 - September 3, 2015)



Geraldine “Geri” (Bernard) Meadows, 80, of Huntington, WV, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2015 at her daughter’s home in North Carolina surrounded by her family. She was born August 23, 1935, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated from Huntington High School in 1953 where she was a Pony Express majorette. During her school days she worked at Jim’s Steak & Spaghetti House and was one of the first waitresses hired to work there. Due to her husband being transferred in the Navy, she moved to Levittown, NY where they raised their seven children. While in N.Y. she was a Mary Kay Consultant and recruiter, Cub Scout Den Mother, PTA President of Division Avenue High School and a Sunday School Teacher at Levittown Community Church. She had a strong faith and was full of wisdom. She enjoyed life to the fullest and always had a sparkle in her eye. She was a teacher of faith, love and honesty. She always found the best in everyone and everything. Upon the death of her husband she returned back to Huntington, W.V. where she worked over 20 years as an assistant to the Director of Nursing for Genesis HealthCare - Heritage Center. She was a fan of Marshall University Football and enjoyed tailgating and attending the games. She was a member of the American Legion of Huntington and on weekends enjoyed playing the slot machines. She was active with the North Shore Animal League and donated to this cause. There was not an animal that she did not have a connection with. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard M. Meadows, Jr.; her father and mother, Omrie and Lela Bernard; and her sister Janet Bernard. She is survived by sons, Omrie R. Meadows (Linda Meadows), Bernard M. Meadows, III. (Brenda Meadows), Gregory A. Meadows (Dawn Meadows), Michael J. Meadows (Rachel Meadows); daughters, R. Michelle Adkins (Keith Adkins), Cynthia J. Spreacker, Melanie D. Lotito (Norma Ferrigno); sisters, Jackie Krieger (Paul Thomas Krieger) and Joanne Stewart (Richard Stewart); grandchildren, Robert B. Meadows, Thomas J. Meadows, Tiffany M. Davis (Carson Davis), Steven M. Melita, Thurman K. Adkins, Desiree J. Cruz (Richard Cruz), Reginald W. Meadows, Clarence J. Meadows, Spencer M. Carey (Lenis Carey), Alicia K. Greathouse (Brian M. Greathouse), Brian D. Kirby (Jennifer M. Kirby), Janet N. Spreacker, Nicholas M. Lotito (Stephanie Lotito), Kristan D. Nordquist (Gregory Nordquist), Evan M. Meadows, Dylan M. Meadows, Austin R. Kirby, Gabriella D. Lotito. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, September 7, 2015, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
