Obituary
Steven “Bluejay” Thompson, 57 of
Huntington,
WV died Monday February 11,
2008 at Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral services
will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Beard Mortuary with Pastor Bob
Withers officiating. Burial will follow in
Spring Valley
Memory
Gardens. He was
preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Rood and his grandmother, Mary
Lyons. He is survived by his devoted wife of thirteen years, Debroah; his
father Henry Thompson of Kitts Hill, OH; step-sons, David (Sarah) Hagley,
Jr. and grandson, Joshua of Ona, WV and Stephen (Tina) Hagley
and granddaughter, Alexandria of Lesage, WV; he is also survived by
two sisters, Cheryl Thompson of Kitts Hill and June Sowards of Huntington;
two brothers, Paul Rood and Brian (Kim) Rood; special niece, Elizabeth and
nephew, Austin of Huntington; a brother-in-law, Richard (Sara) Eckert of
Ironton, OH; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis (Charles) Nietz of Wayne, OH. He
was an avid Marshall Football fan, C.B.’er friend to many and a “Special
Railroad observer” for CSX; who named a stretch of tracks after him near his
home in Guyandotte. This kind and gentle man will be missed by all who knew
him. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to his family to help with
medical expenses. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Tuesday at
Beard Mortuary.
