Frances L. Young

Frances L. “Frankie” Young, 83, of Huntington went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 11, 2010 in Sarasota, FL. She was born on February 18, 1927 in Cabell County, a daughter of the late William Clayton and Anna Thomas Young. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Bird and Ethel Braley; two brothers, William Young Jr. and Wesley Young; and one nephew, James “Sonny” Bowen. She is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and James “Froggie” Bowen of Huntington; four nieces, Sharon Clay and Janet Johnson both of Milton, Sheila Byrd of Huntington, and Carolyn Hudson of Covina, CA; surviving nephews and great nephews whom she helped raise, Billy Bird, Roger Bird, Tom Bird, Tommy Bird, and also David Allen Bird who preceded her in death, all of Sarasota, FL. Other nephews Richard Young and Glen Young of Huntington, and Howard Sarver of Lake Havasu, AZ. Ms. Young was a member of the Baptist Temple and also attended the Walnut Hills Baptist Church. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Beard Mortuary, Huntington with Pastor Tim Arthur officiating. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Friends may call from 1:00 PM until time of the service at the mortuary.
