GLENN “LEROY” CARSON, 78, of Huntington passed away on Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Emogene Dolin-Jones Hospice House. He was born on April 14, 1932 in Cabell County, a son of the late Max and Ethel Adkins Carson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two infant children and a son, Max A. Carson. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Margaret “Peggy” Steele Carson; daughters Toni Carson of Huntington and Terri Fizer of Smithfield, NC; grandchildren, Jason Carson of Huntington, Ryan Carson and Amy Carson of Chesapeake, VA, Rachel Murphy and her husband Sidney of Kenly, NC and Carl Glenn Fizer of Smithfield, NC; and great-grandchildren, Kayla Anne, Hunter Ray, and Cody Ray Murphy, all of Kenly, NC. Mr. Carson was retired from Inco, a member of the Beverly Hills United Methodist Church, the Inco Quarter Century Club and the BMW Riders of America motorcycle club. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 3, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary with Pastor Bill Haynes officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Friends may call one hour before the service at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the WV Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, 11 Lee St. East, Charleston, WV 25301 or the Emogene Dolin-Jones Hospice House.
