Obituary
Cynthia "Cindy" Louise Imperi
Jul 18, 1947 - Feb 23, 2010
Cynthia (Cindy) Louise Imperi, 62, died on February 23 at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by loving family members. There will be a visitation at Beard Mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Fatima Church on Saturday at 11:00AM, offered by Father Jim Sobus. Cindy was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, but lived in New York City for her first five years, moved to Huntington, graduated from Our Lady of Fatima School, St. Joseph High School and Marshall University.... with a degree in Music Education. She lived an unbelievably full life in spite of dealing with her recurring brain tumor: spent a year in the Convent, taught music in Pocahontas County, was the organist at a local Lutheran Church, was one of the first hired at Disney World, worked briefly on the Mississippi Queen, visited the Holy Land, traveled to see the pope in St. Louis, joined the thousands that marched on Washington D.C. for the Unborn. She lived in Cincinnati for many years, where she left behind many dear friends. Her deep faith was evident in her relentless pursuit of spiritual goals. She was instrumental in establishing the Blue Army at Our Lady of Fatima Church. Eucharistic Adoration was something she always tried to promote, and she was also a Third Order Carmelite and a godmother to several nephews, nieces and a sibling. Cindy made friends with everyone she met, even men begging on the street. Cindy joins her father Leo and is survived by her mother Anne; her daughter Amy Damiano Cole, Uniondale, Pennsylvania; her five sisters, Martha Mishoe (John), Huntington; Cecile Smith (Ron), Columbus, Ohio; Leanne Imperi, Huntington; Amy Hayes, McKinney, Texas; and Gianna Vennari (Joe), Lexington, Kentucky....and her four brothers, Dr. Gregory (Jody), Gainesville, Florida; David, Huntington; Peter, Las Vegas; and Andrew, Huntington. May the Lord’s love enfold her in everlasting peace.
