      Obituary

Wanda Jean “Jeanie” Durham Fry, 60,
of Huntington, West Virginia was reunited with her loving family in heaven,
Thursday, November 18, 2010 at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was born July 11,
1950, daughter of the late James and Thelma Durham. In addition to her
parents, she was also preceded in death by her infant son, Herbert Ryan Fry,
her sister, Patricia Carol Durham Fields, and her beloved canine companion,
Nugget. She was the loving wife and best friend to her husband of 29 years,
Herbert Ray Fry. As a nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital for more than 25 years, Jeanie comforted
and cared for her patients and helped to bring hundreds of babies into the
world. The love and care she expressed in her job was also shared with her
large family and close friends. Jeanie enjoyed hosting family picnics,
dinners and card games and was happiest when her kitchen was full of family,
food and laughter. When any of her loved ones were sick, she became their
personal nurse, giving her time and attention to making sure they were well
cared for. Jeanie spent 29 years married to her “trophy husband” Herb, and
together they enjoyed a happy life of friendship and love.
In addition to her husband, her survivors include her siblings and their
spouses: Phyllis May of Huntington, WV; Jim and Jean Durham of
Barboursville, WV; Larry and Mattie Durham of Hardy, KY; Pam Zornes of
Richmond, VA; Byron and Anne Durham of Huntington, WV; Jerry and Roberta
Durham of Paintsville, KY; and Ronald and Tammi Durham of Georgetown, KY.
She is also survived by 38 nieces and nephews and her very spirited and
    loving puppy, Buddy.
Visitation will be held at Beard Mortuary on Saturday, November 20 from
6-8p.m. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday,
November 21 at 2:00 at Beard Mortuary with burial services immediately
