Mary Ellen Serey, 86, of Huntington, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at her residence. Funeral Liturgy will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Huntington with Monsignor Lawrence Luciana officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, OH. She was born November 13, 1924 in Ironton, OH, a daughter of the late Gerald and Lorena Moore Serey. She was also preceded in death by a brother, James Serey. Mary Ellen was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, retired from St. Mary’s Hospital as an RN after 45 years in the surgery department and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She is survived by three nieces, Rebecca Serey of Pittsburgh, PA, Bernadette Amore of Newark, OH and Rachel Sandhofer of Columbus, OH; one nephew, Christopher Serey of Pittsburgh, PA; special cousin, Donald (Mary Lou) Sands of South Point, OH and ten great nieces and nephews.
