Obituary
Roy Walter Everett, 80, of Huntington, WV, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at the Emogene Dolin-Jones Hospice House. Roy was born in Huntington on July 18, 1932, the son of the late J. Roy and Violet Hensley Everett. He was educated in Huntington schools, was a graduate of Huntington East High School, and attended Marshall University. He served in the US Army in Korea during the Korean Conflict and in the Army Reserves for ten years. Roy worked for many years at Banks-Miller Supply Company and retired from Northcoast Commercial Roofing Company where he was operations manager. He was a past-president of the Huntington Jaycees, a past-WV Jaycee regional vice-president, and a JCI Senator. Roy was a member of the American Legion Post 16 and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of Beverly Hills United Methodist Church and a charter member of TNPC. Survivors are his wife, Barbara Smith Everett; a daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Ivan Mount; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Deborah Everett; grandchildren, Jennifer Reynolds, Michelle Perry, Jeremy (Holly) Mount, all of Huntington, and Cynthia (Marty) Edge of Bidwell, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Aerison and Maggie Parrish, J.T. and Haylee Perry, Alex Edge, Caroline Mount, and step-great-granddaughters, Toshia and Hanna Edge; a sister-in-law, Becky (Carl) Haeberle of Los Osos, California. Friends who wish may make donations to the Emogene Dolin-Jones Hospice House (3100 Staunton Rd. Huntington, WV 25702) or the Beverly Hills United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Beard Mortuary from 6pm to 8 pm. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Spring Hill Cemetery with Rev. William Haynes officiating.
