LLOYD NELSON, 92, of Huntington, widower of Mary Lucille Paul Nelson, passed away on December 30, 2014. He was born on June 18, 1922 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Emery Robert and Amy Ann Thomas Nelson. He is survived by daughters, Judy Nelson and June Ann Gesner; granddaughters, Tiffany Ann (Gesner) & Seth Baker and Angela Diane (Gesner) & Jeffrey Glazer; great-grandsons, Miles Barrett Baker, Emmett Theodore Baker and Gavin Sol Glazer; niece, Connie Jack; a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Nelson was a proud WWII veteran of the United States Army and was retired from C&O. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers Lodge 104, American Legion Post 16, VFW Post 9738 where he served on the Honor Guard, Elks Lodge 313, Disabled American Veterans, and various dance clubs in Huntington and Charleston. He was a member of many Masonic Organizations including 50 year member of the Masonic Blue Lodge Guyandotte #11, Scottish Rite 14th Degree Huntington, York Right Knights Templar Commandary #9 Huntington, Shriners Organizations including 50 year member Beni Kedeim, Legion of Honor Unit, ROJ Jesters Court 111 Charleston, Kachina Charleston, Huntington Shrine Club where he served for many years as an Usher for Marshall University Football, El Hasa (Associate Member) where he served as Potentate Aid for many years as well as the Hillbilly Clan, KY Colonel Unit, and Oriental Band Unit, and a 50 year member of the Eastern Star Guyandotte Chapter #89. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Bill Wilson officiating. Entombment will follow at Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5 PM – 7 PM at the mortuary.
