Bill Morrison Miller, 75, of Huntington, passed away on Monday, May, 2, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 P.M. at Beard Mortuary with Rev. Jack Williams, officiating. Burial will follow at Arthur Cemetery in Milton. He was born March 9, 1941 in Huntington, a son of the late Fred Morrison Miller and Hazel Wray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Lilly Ross, Ella McConnell and Barbara Blevins; four brothers, Paul, Steve, Danny and Mike Miller and one brother-in-law, Arthur Brown. Bill owned and operated Miller Tree Service for 45 years. Bill was a hard worker and a handyman. He was always there when someone needed something fixed. Bill was a very soft-hearted and caring person, especially with kids. His favorite pastime was hanging out with his friends and swapping stories at Dovel’s Convenient Store on 30th Street. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carolyn Ann Miller; his children, Judy Donald, Donna (John) Adkins, Larry (Cathy), Edward, Sr. and Mark all of Huntington; grandchildren, Michael, Richard, Melissa, Cody, Felicia, Heather, Edward, Jr., Brittney and Mason; great-grandchildren, Kaleigh, Xavier and Christopher; sisters, Lula White, Margie (Russell) Powers, Tammy (Dave) Hapney all of Huntington and Jane Brown and Sue (Dennis) Higelmire, all of Michigan; brothers, Jack Miller, Freddie (Margaret) Miller, Melvin (Vicky) Miller and Gary (Angie) Miller, all of Huntington; special friends, Sharrell and Nate Anderson, Dovel Burcham, Charles Wills, Dennis “Sled” Henry and a host of other friends and numerous relatives. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 5th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
