ObituaryALICE F. BURGESS
ALICE F. BURGESS, 76, of Reedville, Va., formerly of Huntington, went home to be with the Lord and to join her husband and love of her life, George R. Burgess, on November 3, 2016. Her occupation of 30 years was spent at Columbia Gas Transmission where she began as a secretary and retired as a multi-million dollar pipeline budget clerk. Without hesitation her family and friends would attest to her talent as an excellent, loving caregiver and ability to create culinary favorites. She told stories and had such fond memories growing up with her parents, siblings and extended family in Ohio and Virginia with lots of laughter and foods to pass on as traditions. Her husband and partner in life worked together to create a life beyond their expectations. The blessings bestowed on them opened their hearts to bless others. Her love of family, laughter, positive approach to life and the many impeccable talents, all done with her own touch of class, will be greatly missed and her life celebrated for all she has given. Alice is survived by her daughters, Loretta Burgess and Shari Burgess; grandchildren, Allison Olson, Christopher Pack, Maddison Wilbur, Britney Wilbur and Olivia Wilbur; great-granddaughter, Fairryn Wilbur; sisters, Ruth Kinsella, Doris Kasda, Geraldine Seubert and Linda Krejci; brother, William "Bucky" DeJarnette; 18 nieces and nephews; in-laws and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Virginia Gebhart. A gathering to celebrate her life with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Spring Hill Cemetery, 1427 Norway Avenue, Huntington, with Dr. David Lemming officiating.
