Obituary

Larry Eugene Graham, 81, of Huntington, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Hospice of Huntington. Born September 20, 1934 in Huntington, he was a son of the late Melvin Stanley Graham and Mabel Virginia Toppings Graham. In addition to his parents, the Love of Larry’s life, Madelyn Elva “Maddie” Hosey, passed away in August. Larry was a graduate of Barboursville High School class of 1952 where he played fullback for the football team. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran stationed in Korea and worked as a supervisor for Owen Illinois Glass Plant for 41 years until he retired in 1993. He enjoyed the beach and traveling. Larry’s favorite pastime was watching the Cincinnati Reds on TV. He also loved attending Marshall football games with his family, watching his great-nephew play for the Mountaineers and going to his sister’s or brother’s house for dinner and conversation on the porch. Larry will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him. He is survived by his brother, Phillip (Audrey) Graham; sister, Barbara (Jack) Yeager; nieces and nephews, Cheryl Molina, Phillip Graham II, Susie Boyd, Elizabeth Jakaitis, Jackie Boutouis, Andrea Wade and Madelyn’s son, Robert Lee Hosey and his wife, Susan and their children, Kristen, Shannon and Zachary. The family wishes to thank Madelyn’s niece, Lillian Chafin and her sister, Lilah Mae Copley. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Beard Mortuary, Huntington. The family will welcome friends one hour prior to services. Mausoleum entombment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville. Memorial contributions may be made in Larry’s honor in support of the Hospice of Huntington.
