Dortha Mae Niswander
(April 16, 1926 ~ January 26, 2017)

Dortha Mae Niswander, 90 of Lesage, WV passed away on Thursday January 26, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at First Wesleyan Church     Washington Blvd with Pastor Corey Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park. She was born April 16, 1926 in Huntington, WV that daughter of the late Claude C. and Verna Martin Hensley.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Bernard Niswander, a son Timothy Alan Niswander , a grandson, Solomon Jacob Niswander and several brothers and sisters. She was retired from the Cabell County Board of Education as a cook at Cox Landing Elementary School. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joy and J.A. Wells of Huntington; a son and daughter-in-law, Bernie Keith and Debra Niswander of Nicholasville, KY; grandchildren, Andrea Pritchard whom she raised like her daughter, Joshua Niswander, Tiffany Crawford, Shane and Shawn Wells, Sarah Burke, Megan, Benjamin, Paul and Timothy Niswander and Anna Thompson; nineteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.  The family will receive friends on Sunday after 2:00 p.m. at First Wesleyan Church.
