Daniel Timothy McDonald
(February 3, 1997 ~ May 21, 2017)
Daniel Timothy McDonald, age 20, of
Huntington, W.Va., joined our Lord on Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Hoops Family
Children’s Hospital (Cabell Huntington Hospital). His Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Our Lady of
Fatima Church with Father Paul Yeunger officiating. Burial will follow in
Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Beard Mortuary. Daniel was born February 3,
1997, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, the son of Timothy Joseph McDonald and
Sandra Kay Akers McDonald. In addition to his parents he is survived by
siblings, brother Robert Sterling Hall III and Kathleen Marie Barton
(Danny); nephews, Vaughn and Sebastion, niece, Alessandra; grandparents,
Kathleen Maynard, Michael McDonald and Jeri McDonald; uncles, Greg Akers
(Susan), Michael McDonald (Diane) and Terry McDonald (Amy); cousins, Bradley
Akers, TaBetha and Mylee Awaldt, Ashley, Elle and Presley Faykus, and
Patrick, Hannah and Mary McDonald. He was preceded in death by his
grandfathers, Jimmy D. Akers and Daniel T. Maynard of Huntington, WV. Daniel
attended Huntington High School and was a member of Our Lady of Fatima
Church. He enjoyed classical music, amusement parks, aquariums and movies.
Daniel’s love was pure, innocent and unconditional which he shared with
family and friends with loving SMILES. He inspired others to open their
hearts and made the world a brighter place. Very Special Thank You to
Daniel’s loving caregiver, Missy Taylor; his teachers Rene Kessinger -
Peyton Elementary, Anne Farley - Davis Creek Elementary, Terri Holley –
Huntington Middle School, and Jonna Davis - Huntington High School; High
School nurses, Jayme Erwin and Beverly Marshall, Dr. Matthew Harris and
staff; Dr. Pino, Dr. Frazier; and PICU nurses of Hoops Children's Hospital
who provided exceptional loving care. The family requests, in lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions in Daniels name to Hoops Family Children's
Hospital. The love that Daniel left in this world will live on in the hearts
of all he touched.
