(November 16, 1921 - August 31, 2012)
Edward Wells,
90, of Huntington, WV, did Friday August 31, 2012 in the Emogene Dolin Jones
Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday September 3,
2012 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington with Rev. Jesse Lacy officiating.
Burial will be in Bowen Cemetery. Edward was born November 16, 1921 in
Huntington, WV a son of the late Standard (Son) & Nancy Roach Wells. He
retired from the former H.K. Porter Co. Edward was a U.S. Army WWII veteran
serving as a scout in the 3rd Division under Dwight Eisenhower. He received
a Purple Heart & Bronze Star. He was a member of the Local Steelworkers.
After his retirement he enjoyed Cattle Farming. He was preceded in death by
his wife Loretta Jessie Taylor Wells. Survivors include two daughters
Deborah Wells and husband Daniel, Pamela Wells and fiancé Rodney McLaughlin
all of Huntington, two sisters Alice Morrison of Fl. and Rene Arthur of VA,
one brother Dorsal Wells of Huntington and special friends Roger and Norma
Wooten and family of Huntington. Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 will conduct
military graveside rites. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary from 5:00
until 7:00 PM Sunday September 2, 2012.
