Mr. Artie Leslie Adkins, 65, of Ironton, OH, widower of Jo Ann Esque Adkins, died Sunday, August 11, 2013 at the Sanctuary Assisted Living, Ironton, OH. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, August, 16, 2013 at Chapman’s Mortuary. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. He was born February 29, 1948 in Huntington, WV, a son of Betty Coulson Adkins of Huntington, and the late Artie Lincoln Adkins. He was a disabled Veteran having served during the Viet Nam War. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Calissa Shay Woods and 2 sisters, Kathy and Erie Kay Adkins. Surviving are 3 daughters and a son-in-law, Angela and Stanley Woods and Tracy Jo Adkins, all of Mt. Sterling, KY, Dawnetta NcKenzie of Florida; a son, Artie Adkins, Jr. of Florida, a sister, Wendy Bolen of Huntington, 12 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Friends may call at Chapman’s Mortuary from 6pm until 8 PM Thursday, August 15, 2013. Military graveside rites will be given by Veteran Honor Guard, Post #16, American Legion.
