Obituary

Harry Frank Nibert, Jr.
(January 24, 2013)

Beloved, devoted and sweet husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and cherished friend passed away gracefully, peacefully and with great courage after a struggle with a brief illness. He fought hard believing he could survive this terrible illness until the very end when he said "time to go". His name came up on heaven's role call and was called home January 24, 2013. Mr. Nibert served in the military in both WWII and the Korean conflict, and was a long time employee of Ford Motor Company in Wayne, Michigan and a loyal UAW member. In retirement, he lived in Punta Gorda, Florida and especially enjoyed traveling across the US in his motor home accompanied by his wife, pet Jabber, and often kids and grandkids. He will be fondly remembered as a great story- teller, kind prankster and an especially great cook. He was born to Rose and Harry Nibert, Sr., in Apple Grove WV, and was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Albert and Fred, sisters Florence, Mildred and Evelyn. He will also join his sons John and Michael who preceded him in passing. He is survived and dearly missed by his wife Leona Nibert of 65 years of Punta Gorda, Fl, sisters Mary Sims and Dorothy Langdon of Huntington, WV, sister in law June Nibert of Point Pleasant, and brother Thomas Nibert of Nitro, WV;, devoted daughter in law Denise Nibert of Luna Pier, MI, son in law and daughter, Drs. Joseph and M. Kathryn McCulloch, devoted and beloved grandchildren Michael (Stephanie) McCulloch, Sarah(Kris) Erickson, MaryCaitlin McCulloch (fiance Aaron Amundson), and Holly (Jason) Wambergue, adored great grandchildren Jason and Lauren Wambergue, Oskar and Ingrid Erickson, Zeke and Elvira McCulloch. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Chapman's Mortuary in Huntington. Interment will follow at Beale Chapel Cemetery, Apple Grove, WV with the Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 conducting military graveside rites. We would like to send a special thanks to our supportive family members, friends, colleagues and Tidewell Hospice of Punta Gorda, Fl. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time Saturday at the funeral home.
