Obituary



James Jackson Blevins, 91, of South Point, OH, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at River's Bend Health Care Center in South Point, OH. James was born on July 20, 1927 in Wayne County, WV, a son of the late William S. Blevins and Alma Critzer Blevins. He attended local schools and was a US Army veteran. Mr. Blevins was a retired chrome line plumber for Houdaille Industries. In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his wife, Anna Sorrell Blevins; a son, Terry Blevins; seven brothers, Louis Blevins, William Blevins, Raymond Blevins, and Oscar Blevins, Paul Blevins, Charles Blevins, and Carl Blevins; and two sisters, Sharon Woodrick and Drucilla Lucas. Survivors include his daughter, Evelyn (Tom) Orosz, of Wayne, WV; a brother, Willis Blevins of Huntington; three sisters, Mary Marcum of Kenova, Lily Fyffe, of South Point, OH and Opal Adkins of Proctorville, OH; two grandchildren, April Goodrich of Lilburn, GA, and Michael Brumfield of Alum Creek, WV; two special nieces, Ruby Blevins and Cassie Woodrick, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. Cremation will take place and services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Blevins' memory to Hospice of Huntington. The Blevins family would like to extend their appreciation to all the nurses and staff at River's Bend Health Care Center for the excellent care given to James.
