Obituary
Marjorie Noreen Steele Streib, 84, of Huntington, WV, widow of James Robert (Bob) Streib, died Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Woodlands Retirement Community. She was born September 19, 1934 in Huntington, the daughter of the late Arthur Daly and Margaret Irene Trowbridge Steele. She was a faithful and active member of Beverly Hills United Methodist Church, a 1952 graduate of Huntington East High School and retired from Appalachian Power Company. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Hal and Carol White, Glenn and Lisa White, and Todd and Kellie White, all of Huntington; six grandchildren, Matt (Katrina), Allison, Chris, Tim, Charlie and James White; seven great grandchildren, Logan, Matti, Cash, Coen, Josie, and Nora White and Lillian Frye; stepchildren, James Streib, Rutherfordton, NC and Jennifer Bamgarner, York, SC; sibling, Jane (Richard) McLeod; sister-in-law, Arlene Steele; nephews and nieces, Marc and Mike Chittum, Linda, Mary, David and Scott Steele,Terri Carson Robertson, Gene McLeod; a very close and special friend, Brenda Harvey, close friends Betty Frye and Lois White; and a host of family and friends. Also, preceding her in death were friend and father of her children, Everett "Jim" White; brothers, Jack Chittum (Doris) and Art Steele, Jr.; sister, Peggy Carson; niece, Toni Carson; nephews, Max Carson and Curt McLeod; brother-in-law, Leroy Carson; stepdaughter, Joanne Streib Walton; and close friends, Mary Lou Barbera and Thelma Corley. A Celebration of Life service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Beverly Hills United Methodist Church, 2600 Washington Blvd., Huntington, with Dr Jerry Wood officiating, followed by a gathering in the church Fellowship Hall where family members will meet with friends to enjoy a time of remembrance, fellowship and refreshments. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the B.H.U.M.C. Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry or Prayer Shawl Ministry, Highlawn Presbyterian Church or to the charity of your choice. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family.
