Obituary



Joey Lee Eckert, 58, of Litchfield, MI., died Thursday, July 11, 2019 in Huntington, WV. He was born May 15, 1961 in Concord, MI., a son of Robert Noel Eckert of Hanover, MI, and the late Lois Ilene Booth Eckert. Joey graduated from Concord High School where he enjoyed wrestling. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles, and he was an avid hunter, fisherman, sportsman, and loved archery and basketball. He worked for Current Surfacing Inc. in Hanover, MI., and was a member of the IBEW Local 445 of Battle Creek, MI. In addition to his father, additional survivors include his pride and joy, his son, Jerid R. Eckert of Litchfield; his fiancée, Johnna Joann Koch of Litchfield; three sisters, Arreta Thompson and her husband, Barry Thompson of Horton, MI, Robyn Kay Passmore of Concord, MI, and Noela Ann Eckert of Tucson, AZ; and nine nieces and nephews he loved dearly, Angie, Corey and Zachary, Chucky, Becky, and Kaytlin, and Eric Erin, and Egan. A memorial service is planned for 2:00 PM Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the Concord Free United Methodist Church with Rev. Rob Hughes officiating.
