Joandel Miller Jackson


Joandel Miller Jackson, age 89 of Edgewater, FL, passed away on April 9, 2020 at Edgewater Hospice Care. She was preceded in death by her loving husband George E. Jackson Jr. and sister Nina Miller Brumfield. She was born in Huntington, WV to the late John Miller and Blondel Turner Miller on March 27, 1931. Joandel graduated from Huntington East High School and received a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Marshall University. She taught at Cox's Landing Elementary in Cabell County WV for her entire career. She was a life-long member of Beverly Hills United Methodist Church in Huntington and Edgewater United Methodist Church. She was always active in church choirs, women's circles, and volunteered in church office and charitable activities. Joandel is survived by her five children, Richard (Connie) Jackson, Mark Jackson, Scott (Jackie) Jackson, Kay (Terry) Holland and Elizabeth (Joe) Schuler along with six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Her family loved her dearly and will miss her very much. Arrangements are incomplete at this time. A celebration of her life will be held in both Edgewater and Huntington at a later date.
