Obituary



Mary Lou Spears, 71, of Hurricane, WV, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020, in CAMC Putnam, Hurricane. She was born December 13, 1948 in Champaign, IL a daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Short and Marth Short. Mary Lou was also preceded in death by two brothers, Russell Short and Larry Short. She was a retired nursing home cook. Survivors include: a daughter Joyce (Stephen Bryan) Hawkins of Parma Heights, OH; a son, Charles Wilson Spears of Huntington; and three grandchildren, Desiree Gibson of Hurricane, and Genna Hawkins and Terry Hawkins, both of Parma Heights. Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 am Friday, November 27, 2020, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family.
