James Carter Tubbs
(February 4, 1930 - May 7, 2007)



James “J.C.” Carter Tubbs, 77 of Huntington went to be with the Lord Monday May 7, 2007 at home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be conducted at 12noon at the Real Life Christian Center with Pastor Charles Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. James was born February 4, 1930 in Logan County, WV to the late Carter and Mattie Robinson Tubbs. He was preceded in death by one grandson Erik Burks, one brother, Carvella Tubbs and three sisters, Phyllis, Vivian, Tubbs and Elornorjean Carter. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Rosetta Burks Tubbs; nine children, Kathy Atwell and Verline Burks both of Lexington, KY., Manuel and Richard Burks both of WV., Jerry Tubbs and Judy Tubbs of Lexington, KY., Pamela (Victor) Moses of Lexington, KY., James Cater Tubbs Jr. of WV., and Cindy (Kenyatta) Elmore of Columbus, OH; six siblings, Raymond Tubbs, Anthony Tubbs, Carlie Young, Helen Tubbs, Christine Qualls, and Wesley Tubbs; 27 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, and close friends also survive. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.  The care and services of Mr. Tubbs are under the direction of the Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington.
