Sandra Ann "Sandy" Phillips, 69, of Huntington, passed away at Pinecrest Personal Care Home on Wednesday, August 6, 2008. Sandy was born on September 30, 1938 in Huntington. She was a loving wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Stella Hite Burns. Survivors are her husband, Robert “Bob” Phillips; her three children, Melanie (Jamie) Ward of Barboursville, WV, Jeanette (Paul) Scott of Hendersonville, TN and Darrell (Mary Ann) Phillips of Moultrie, GA; eight grandchildren, Justin, KayDee and Sammie Phillips, Randy, Bobby and Cassie Ward, and PJ and Jenny Scott. Also surviving are two sisters, Joan Lake of Pinehurst, NC and Sue LeGrand of Hilton Head, SC. Sandy was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School and Century College of Commerce. Sandy was an extremely talented and creative person who now is in the arms of her Creator. The family thanks Dr. Patick and his staff, Kathy Adkins and all the staff at Pinecrest Personal Care home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers please make donations to Pinecrest Personal Care Home, 5768 Pinecrest Dr., Huntington, WV 25705. Graveside services will be 10 am Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Spring Hill Cemetery with Rev. Charles Null officiating. A procession will depart Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home at 9:45 am Saturday. Visitation will be Friday 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.  What through the radiance which was once so bright, be now taken from our sight. Nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, or glory in the flower; we will grieve not, but find strength in what memories we retain and have faith knowing that we will meet again.
