Charles Edward "Ed" Murrell
Charles Edward Murrell of Amherstdale WV went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 17th at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Ed, as he was called, was born September 13th, 1955 in Huntington WV to the late Deacon William Murrell and Deaconess Irene Murrell. Ed graduated from Huntington High school and was employed at Special Metals from 1973 until 2001. Ed confessed his belief in the Lord at an early age and became a member of First Baptist Church Huntington where he joined the choir and was ordained as a Deacon on May 7, 2006. When the family relocated to Amherstdale, WV, he attended the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Ed loved the Lord. Ed touched the lives of so many people with his outgoing personality and his love of others and he never met a stranger. He was proceeded in death by his mother and father William and Irene Murrell, his brother Rev. William (Bobby) Murrell, three sisters Anita Hornbuckle, Patricia Murrell and Elizabeth Murrell of Huntington, WV, his mother and father-in-law Henry and Leola Ramsey and a brother-in-law Edward Ramsey of Amherstdale, WV. Ed leaves to mourn his passing his devoted wife of 27 years Judy Murrell of Amherstdale, WV. Two sons Jason Murrell of Denver, CO and Marcus Murrell of Amherstdale, WV, two daughters Onda Berger of Flint, MI and Leah Murrell of Amherstdale, WV. Two sisters Vaida Carey of Newport News, VA and Cecelia Murrell-Jones of Atlanta, GA. Two grandchildren Tamecha Berger and Joshua Henson of Flint, MI. A host of nieces, nephews and friends. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4 A Celebration of his life will be 1:00PM Friday, March 23, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Huntington with the Reverend Paul F. Willis, officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00AM until the time of the service at the church.
