Ruth Ann Melvin Gallaher
(May 8, 1938 - May 26, 2015)

Ruth Ann Melvin Gallaher, 77, of Huntington, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at her residence. Born May 8, 1938 in Coal Grove, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Mary Ann (Burger) Melvin. Ruth was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Ironton, Ohio. She retired in 2010 as a hospice nurse in South Florida. Ruth was a feisty lady who loved to read and enjoyed martinis. She is survived by her children, Brenda (Alfred) Boudreaux of LA, and Bruce Gallaher (Kristin) of Huntington; her sister, Margaret (Dan) Tipton of FL; her grandchildren, Blake Gallaher of FL, Brendan Gallaher of FL, Ezra Hall of WV, Juliann (Daniel) Parker of GA and Joseph Kowalski of LA; her niece and nephew, Denise (Wayne) Mitchell of OH, John (Marie) Tipton of OH, and close family friend, Mike Zuliani of Huntington. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on June 6, 2015 at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 611 Center Street, Ironton, Ohio. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Tri-State Cremation Society. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruth's honor to the Hospice of Huntington.
