Bertha Lee Davis
(February 14, 1933 - September 25, 2016)

Bertha Lee Davis, 83, of Huntington, WV passed away September 25, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born February 14, 1933 in Bessma, AL. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Scott and Ruby Williams Scott; first husband, Lawrence Rankin, Sr. and Jesse Davis, Sr.; daughter, Patricia Rankin; son, George Davis; sister, Cora Balett and brother, Jesse Bryan. Bertha was a lifelong member of Young Chapel AME Church and worked many years as a dietitian at Cabell Huntington Hospital. She leaves behind to mourn her loss; sons, Greg Rankin (Corla), Lawrence Rankin, Jr. (Donnetta) and Jesse Davis, Jr.; daughters Quintina Davis and Donnetta Jackson (James), all of Huntington. In addition, she is survived by her siblings; Henry Herbert Clark, Asalene Bryan and Fannie Walker; six grandchildren, a host of many great-grandchildren; God daughter, Trina Myers; special niece, Sheila Wolfork; three close friends, Lucinda Page, JoAnn Hale and Ellen Jackson and a host of many family members and friends. Funeral services will be held 12:00 P.M., Friday, September 30, 2016 at Young Chapel AME Church with Pastor Kary Williams, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington.
