Obituary

JAMES W. EDMONDS, 75, of Ona left this Earth to be with his Heavenly Father Monday, August 1, 2005, at his home. He is the husband of Mary Lee Stowasser Edmonds of 53 years and 11 months and was retired from CSX, Raceland, Ky. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2005, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with Pastor Mark Finley and Pastor Jeff Dailey officiating. Burial will follow in Bias Chapel Cemetery, Milton. Dr. Scott Edmonds, Scott Bumgardner, Travis Edmonds, George Wilson, Everett Ross and Herb Hatfield will serve as pallbearers. He was born April 12, 1930, in Milton, a son of the late Homer H. and Sylvia V. Barker Edmonds. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Floyd H. Edmonds. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, James M. Edmonds and his wife, Darlene, and Ronald A. Edmonds and friend Becky Perry of Huntington; grandchildren, Shawna Bumgardner and her husband, Scott, Rachel and Travis Edmonds of Huntington and Dr. Scott Edmonds and his wife Cassie of Lavalette; one great granddaughter, Eden Hope Bumgardner; sister, Emmogene Black of Milton and sister-in-law, Joyce Edmonds of Salt Rock. He also leaves behind many special friends and family members. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, at Heck Funeral Home.
