Obituary

GLADYS L. BROWNE, 87 of Akron, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 18, 2006. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2006, at Christ Temple with Pastor Chuck Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Gladys was born April 3, 1918, in Jacksonberg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Charles and Lula Postlethwait. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Howard R. Browne; two brothers, Leroy Postlethwait and George Postlethwait; two sisters, Grace Swisher and Thelma Zoeffle. Gladys was a member of Christ Temple. She was also the co-founder of the National Central Alarm Systems, the Good Sams Club and the Cabell-Wayne Association of the Blind. She was an active member of the Springfield Senior Center of Ohio. She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Dolores L. Means of Nitro, W.Va., and her late husband Everett W., Connie N. Smith and her husband Terry of Florida; one son and daughter-in-law, Howard R. II and Barbara Jean Browne of Hurricane; 11 grandchildren, Ray and Joy Browne, Phillip M. Browne, John D. and Jan Browne, Christina and Chris Hodges, Tina R. and Keith Weiss, Amy B. Hatdan, Terrie Leigh Henderson and Joshua and Carol Smith, Matthew and Kristie Finney, Marc Finney and his companion Mike Krupa, Monae Breece and her companion Cynthia Christman and 17 great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by Little Bit. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2005, at Christ Temple, Huntington.
