ObituaryKENNETH S. THACKER, 83, of Milton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 16, 2006, in St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2006, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with the Rev. Tracy Mills officiating. Entombment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was born March 28, 1922, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of the late H.E. and Ethel Foster Thacker. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Lee Thacker. Kenneth was a member of Union Baptist Church, a 50-year member of the Lebanon Lodge 768 AF&AM, Milton, 4 degree Scottish Rite, and a member of the OES Chapter 149, Milton, and a retired heavy equipment operator for Avtex Corp., Nitro. He loved hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Blanche G. Thacker; son Gale W. Thacker of Milton; granddaughter Tina Browning of Milton; a special friend Shelia Ray; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday at Heck Funeral Home, Milton. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Union Baptist Church, Building Fund.
