Obituary

Forest H. Parkins, 83 of the Teays Valley Center, Hurricane died on Monday July 17, 2006 at the Putnam General Hospital after an extended illness.  Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2006 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Rev. David Easter officiating.  Burial will follow in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane.  Mr. Parkins was retired from Union Carbide of South Charleston where he was a technical supervisor in the power department.  He was born January 11, 1923 in Milton a son of the late Clarence and Myrtle Stephens Parkins.  He is also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Easter Parkins; a sister, Phyllis Marshall and a brother, Fredrick.  He is survived by a son, Stephen (Rosemary) of Hurricane; a daughter, Penny (Gary) Green of Wellston, Ohio; 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; two brothers Dana of Garden Grove, Ca. and Richard of Conway, Ak.; sister, Carolyn (Jerry) Campbell of Ocean Isle, NC. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
