Obituary
Richard Burks Harshbarger, 78, of Milton passed away Sunday, June 18, 2006 at his residence. Funeral
service will be conducted 11 AM, Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at Heck
Funeral Home, Milton with Rev. Jim Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. He was born September 3, 1927 in Barboursville, WV a son of the late Harry and Ruth Burks Harshbarger. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Narah Jane Kates Harshbarger. He was a retired engineer with C & O Railroad and a member of Union Baptist Church. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 139, Milton. He was former owner of Merryland and a former member of the Milton Volunteer Fire Department. He
is survived by his daughter, Vickie Adkins of Milton; his son, Rick
Harshbarger of Milton; grandson, Chad Harshbarger of Milton; two
granddaughters, Valarie and Jennifer Adkins of Milton; two great
granddaughters, MyKyla and Keeli Harshbarger of Milton; two brothers,
Louie Harshbarger of Barboursville and Roy Harshbarger of Culloden; a
host of nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Hospice of Huntington and his personal caregivers. The family requests donations be made to Hospice of Huntington. Friends may call from 6 to 9 PM on Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
