Melvin D.
Robertson, 86, of
Milton, passed away Sunday,
February 11, 2007 at the Hospice House of Huntington.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2007 with
Rev. Joseph Jarrett officiating. Burial will follow in
Forest
Memorial Park,
Milton.
Melvin was born July 29, 1920 in
Sewell
W.Va., a son of the late
William and Ethel Looney Robertson. In addition to his
parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Lora Virginia Robertson; five
brothers, Bill, Carl, Clifford, Van and Rex; one sister, Virginia.
He served his country in the United States Marine Corp.
He was the owner and operator of Robertson Department Store.
He also served his community in the Milton Lions Club and on the
Milton City Council on several occasions. He was a
member of the American Legion Post 139 Milton. He was
the President of the Milton Housing Authority. He is
survived by one daughter, Janice Smith; one son, John Robertson; one
brother, Jim Robertson; one sister, Christine Hawes; four grandchildren,
Angie Fischer, Amber Robertson, Mindy Smith and Patrick Smith; three
great-grandchildren, Hunter Fischer, Mason Fischer and Logan Fischer.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
