Obituary

Carl Edward Chapman, 86, of Milton, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2008 at his residence.  Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Pastor Paul Meadows officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton.  Carl was born August 18, 1921 in Cabell County, a son of the late Hartzell and Ruth Suiter Chapman.  He is also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Chapman; one son, Alan B. Chapman.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II.  He worked many years in the insurance and mutual fund industries.  He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Gary Dunlap; three sons and two daughter-in-laws, Patrick Chapman, David and Linda Chapman and Michael and Donna Chapman; eight grandchildren, Marc Chapman, Chad Chapman, Stacy Clauss, Michael Todd Chapman, Katherine Murray, Adam Chapman, Abbey Zink and Gary Rome Dunlap; and eight great grandchildren; and a special friend and caregiver, Debbie Chaney.  Friends may visit from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
