Obituary

Anthony Steve Matthews, 63, of Milton, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2008 in Cabell-Huntington Hospital.  Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Rev. Charles Norris officiating.  Burial will follow in Bias Chapel Cemetery, Milton.  He was born October 11, 1945 in Lincoln Co., WV a son of the late Dale and Irene Barker Matthews.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Marsha Pauley; brother, David Matthews.  Steve was well known in the community and the owner and operator of Matthews Refrigeration.  He enjoyed life to the fullest and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.  He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Arthur Matthews; daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Scott Barber, Donna and Dwight Deal and Loretta and Lennie Oxyer; sons and daughters-in-law, Chad and Jamie Matthews, Sidney and Jody Allen, Jerry and Laura Priddy; eleven grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Gloria Matthews; sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Denver Elkins.  Visitation will be from Noon to 2 PM, prior to the service on Saturday at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
