Obituary

Our special mother and grandmother, Jean Lipscomb Black, 80, formerly of Ona, WV went home to be with her Lord on January 28, 2009.  Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with the Rev. Richard Black and the Rev. Freddie Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow in Maupin Cemetery.  She was born February 17, 1928 in Barboursville, WV, a daughter of the late Claude and Dorothy Steele Lipscomb.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo Black; a son, Keith Dale Black; 3 grandchildren, Tara and Brandon Black and Hunter Johnson; a daughter-in-law, Becky Caldwell Black; two sisters, Francis Hobbs and Mary Alice Fizer; and three brothers, Claude Lipscomb, Jr., Everett Lipscomb and Rufus Lipscomb.  She is survived by three sons, Donnie (Tammy) Black, Timmy (Mary) Black and Jeff (Kim) Black; four daughters, Karen (Rick) Harvey, Beverly (Mark) Triplett, Kim (Anthony) Barnes and Sherry (John) Mueller; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; three brothers, Glenn (Katie) Lipscomb, Bobby (Jane) Lipscomb and her twin brother, Jack Lipscomb.  Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2009 at Heck Funeral Home.  The family would like to give special thanks to Huntington Health & Rehab and her special friends, Fred and Shirley Anderson.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
