Arden Hite

Arden Hite, 86, of Culloden passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation.  Funeral service will be conducted 3:00 PM, Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Pastor Paul Meadows officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton.  Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion, Post 139.  He was born November 18, 1922 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Harry E. and Elizabeth Ann Weed Hite.  He was also preceded in death by his son, Andrew Hite; sisters, Norma Johnson, Zelma Decker, and Jeanette Porter; brothers, Avery and Dale Hite.  He was a retired machinist for Boston Gear Works and a U.S. Marine.  He loved to spend time walking and reading novels.  He is survived by his wife, Alta Faye Wise Conner Hite; sisters, Bernice Roberts of Harriman, TN and Frances Nelson of Ona; daughter, Marilyn (Kenneth) Ericson of Reading, PA; five sons, Thomas (Joan) Hite of Marshfield, Mass., Gary (Mary) Hite of Brockton, Mass., Jonathan (Karen) Hite of Marshfield, Mass., Daniel (Lidia) Hite of Jamacia Plain, Mass., Kenneth (Joan) Hite of Windham, NH; fourteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; step children, Terry Conner, MaryAnn Daniels, and Michael Conner all of Milton; five step grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Hite.  Visitation will be from 1 to 3 PM, Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
