Carl Edward Aliff
December 10, 1925 - April 18, 2010



Carl Edward Aliff, 84, of Milton, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010 in Cabell-Huntington Hospital. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Barboursville, WV with Bishop Jay Duncan officiating. He was born December 10, 1925 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Scott and Myrtle King Aliff. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Emma Lee Aliff and a son, Wendell “Butch” Eugene Stephens. Mr. Aliff was retired from the VA Medical Center after 16 years of service and was a US Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, VFW Post 1064, American Legion Post 139, the Blind Veterans Association and the D.A.V. He is survived by his wife, Geneva Tomblin Aliff; two sons, Edgar Schindler and his wife, Joyce of South Africa and Jess Aliff and his wife, Mary of Milton; five daughters, Sharian Kay Bowen of Salt Lake City, UT, Cecilia Ross and her husband, Mike of Huntington, Connie Cole and George Evans of Jackson, OH, Vickie Combs and her husband, Greg of Chesapeake, OH and Theresa Scheibelhood and her husband, Troy of Proctorville, OH; one brother, Richard Harrison and his wife, Claudine of Huntington and one daughter-in-law, Nancy Stephens of Piqua, OH; 18 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and several nieces, nephews and special friends. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
