Richard Lee Harshbarger, 83, of Milton, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 30, 2010 in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM, Monday, August 2, 2010 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Rev. Allen Stewart officiating. Entombment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was born June 9, 1927 in Milton, WV a son of the late Leo “Bud” and Rachel Allene (McKeny) Harshbarger. He was a retired corrosion specialist with Tennessee Gas Company. He was a member of Milton Baptist Church and a member of Lebanon Lodge 68, A.F. & A.M., Milton. He was former President of N.A.C.E., WV and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a former councilman with Milton Town Council. In his earlier years he worked on the Milton V.F.D. and sang in the Milton Baptist Church Quartet. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Harshbarger; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Laura Harshbarger of Milton; sister, Mary Ellen Jordan of Milton; brother-in-law, Jim Hudgins of Milton; two grandchildren, Kristen (Mike) Armstrong and John David (Becca) Harshbarger; four great grandchildren, Josie Browning, David Browning, Hannah Armstrong, and Emily Armstrong; niece, Paula Smith; nephew, Richard Jordan. Visitation will be Sunday, August 1, 2010 from 6 to 8 PM at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
