Delbert Harold Sowards, 62 of Milton passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011 in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with the Rev. Don Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. He was born August 21, 1949 in Huntington. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Mae Sowards; one son, Tommy Lee Sowards; father, Charles F. Sowards and two brothers, Eugene Sowards and Ronald Sowards. Mr. Sowards was a retired Truck Driver with H & W Trucking and an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He is survived by two daughters, Christina Sowards (Lonnie Chaney) of Apple Grove, WV and Patricia Sowards of Mason County, WV; two brothers, Donald Sowards of Milton and Bill Sowards of Charleston, SC and many non-biological children whom he and his wife cared for and raised throughout the years.
