Obituary
Louise Gebhardt, 94, of Glenwood, passed away Monday, September 26, 2011 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Pastor Henry Clay officiating. Burial will follow in Union Ridge Cemetery, Glenwood. She was born February 16, 1917 in Portersville, WV, a daughter of the late Gilbert and Margaret Porter Moore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Andrew Gebhardt; five sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Gebhardt attended Sunrise United Methodist Church in Glenwood and was a member of its Women’s Society and Rebekah Charity Lodge #39, Huntington. During her career, she was a field assessor for Cabell County and received a Distinguished West Virginian award from Governor Arch Moore. She is survived by two sons, Ronald (Georgia) Gebhardt and Dwight (Dianna) Gebhardt, both of Glenwood; two sisters, Mildred (Ed) Ray of Shoals, WV and Evelyn Reynolds of Huntington; five grandchildren, Felicia (Alan) Thompson of Glenwood, Karla (Dave) Reinhold of Scottown, OH, Krystal Stevens (Shanen Morrison) of Glenwood, Timmy (Mandy) Gebhardt of Glenwood and Stacey (Jason) Burger of Culloden; and 10 great grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 28 at the funeral home.
