Rita M. Sassaman, 79, of Toledo, Ohio passed into the arms of Jesus on June 28, 2014, at the Lakes of Monclova facility after a brief illness. Rita was born November 21, 1934, in West Virginia to Cecil and Neola Chapman. Rita worked for the Chrysler Jeep Corp for 36 years as a cost accountant and 5 years for Walt Disney World. Rita enjoyed bluegrass music and attended many blue grass and art festivals. She also enjoyed playing the dulcimer and auto harp. Rita was also an avid reader of many books and in later years enjoyed books on tape. Rita was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Sassaman in 1991 and Bruce M. Chabot Sr. in 2012; niece, Brenda Dougherty, and sister, Clodene McGraw-Carter. Surviving is her son, Michael (Brenda) Sassaman; grandsons, Cort and Cole Sassaman; nephews, Reggie (Deborah) McGraw, and Brent (Rhonda) McGraw. The family will receive friends at Heck Funeral Home, Milton on Thursday, July 3, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. where services will be held on Friday, July 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Bias Chapel Cemetery.
