Nina Maxine (Rice) Gibson
(August 3, 1932 ~ November 28, 2017)



Nina Maxine Gibson, 85, of Milton went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at her home. She was born August 3, 1932 in Glasgow, WV, a daughter of the late Bryan Willard and Nina Gladys Rice. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Rev. Charles David Gibson; son, Phillip Scott Gibson; daughter, Sharolyn Scites and two brothers, Bryan Willard Rice and Roger Dale Rice. Maxine and her husband ran their family business, Gibson Glass. She was a devoted Christian who served with her husband while he pastored several churches over the years. She is survived by five daughters, Sandy Reffitt of Ashland, KY, Terry Gibson of Lexington, KY, Rhonda (Roger) Simmons of Barboursville, Mendy (Gary) Miller of Milton and Lisa (Jesse) Manning of Milton; five grandchildren, David Craw, Eric (Laurissa) Miller, Rachel Miller, JD Manning and Emily Manning; three sisters, Drexel Gibson of Hurricane, Sharon Davis of Milton and Pat Thornton of Hurricane; four great grandchildren, Leah Craw, Cali Craw, Anna Craw and Alexandria Miller; and one great-great grandchild, Charlee Craw. Maxine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2017 at Liberty Baptist Church located at the intersection of US Rt. 60 and Yates’ Crossing in Milton, with Pastor Kim Stone officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church beginning at 1:00. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington.
