Elsie Norene (Stalnaker) Payton
(May 13, 1931 ~ November 20, 2017)

Elsie N. Stalnaker Payton, 86, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 in Stevensville, MI.  She was born May 13, 1931 in Weston, WV, a daughter of the late Schley and Mary Linger Stalnaker.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy D. Payton; son and daughter-in-law, Terrance and Lisa Sargent Payton; grandson, Samuel Travis Payton; twin brother, Elden Gene Stalnaker; and sisters, Mescal Collins and Winifred “Tommy” Allman.  Elsie is survived by three sons, Samuel (Marsha) Payton of Cross Lanes, WV, Todd Payton of Mobile, AL and Gary (Crystal) Payton of Stevensville, MI; 10 grandchildren, Kristi (Jody) Pollard, Stephen Payton, Martin (Samantha) Payton, Ashleigh Payton, Gary Payton, Rachel Payton, Natalie Payton, Justin Payton, Jordyn McClain and Caleb McClain; seven great grandchildren, Tori (Sam) Hubble, Autumn Pollard, MacKenzie Payton, AJ Payton, Clay Payton, Kevin Payton and Allie Payton; and one brother, Rex (Maryann) Stalnaker of Weston, WV.  A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.  Friends may call one hour prior at the funeral home.
