CARL K. CHILDERS CARL KENNETH CHILDERS, 81 of Huntington passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the HENSON MORTUARY, Barboursville, W.VA. with the Rev. Paul Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, West Virginia. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. He was born April 12, 1928, in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Carl Clark and Lola Mae Harris Childers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ramona Childers, in 2003. He was a retired electrician with the Cabell County Board of Education. He was a member of Olive Baptist Church and was attending Beulah Ann Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Janice K. Elder Childers; two daughters and a son-in-law, Brenda and Butch Vititoe and Dottie Holiday, all of Huntington; a son and daughter-in-law, John Alan and Deborah Childers of Lancaster, S.C,; one sister, Eloise Baumgardner; six grandchildren and their spouses, Sarah and David Hagley, Andrew Ryan Holiday, Matthew and Ashlee Vititoe, Danny and Lisa Vititoe, Adam and Karrie Vititoe, and John Alan II and Katie Childers; and three great-grandchildren, Joshua Michael Hagley, Haylee Mae Vititoe and Larry Matthew Harris. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, May 22, 2009, at the HENSON MORTUARY, BARBOURSVILLE. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington.
