Obituary
RONALD L. CROSBIE Dr. Ronald L. Crosbie, 73 of Huntington died Thursday, September 9, 2010. He was born in McRoberts, KY. on December 13, 1936. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Peggy, sons, Michael (Cindy) of Winter Garden, FL, Scott (K.C.) of Lexington, KY, and grandchildren Kirby, Ethan, Cate, Olivia, and Mac. He was extremely proud of his family and relished every accomplishment of his sons, daughter-in-laws and grandchildren. He was a retired Health, Physical Education and Recreations professor at Marshall University. Ronald completed his B.S. and Masters degrees at Eastern State University and later obtained a Doctorate in Education through his studies and research at Temple University, Indiana University, and West Virginia University. He was keenly interested in providing educational programming for special needs students. Governor Jay Rockefeller honored Ronald with the Distinguished West Virginian Award based on dedication and work with those children. He was a retired United States Army Captain (Inf-USAR) and continued his interest in the U.S. military by going out to sea on the USS Carrier Coral Sea, attending the christening of the USS Ronald Reagan and through his involvement with Marshall University’s Army R.O.T.C. program. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the Jenkins United Methodist Church, Jenkins, KY. Burial will follow in Dixon Cemetery, Blackey, KY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pilot Club of Huntington. Henson Mortuary, Barboursville is caring for the family.
