WILLA EILEEN ROMINE
(December 6, 1918 - September 1, 2010)

Willa Eileen Romine, age 91, of Springfield, Oh., formerly of Huntington, W.Va., went home to be with her Savior on Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Grace Gospel Church, Huntington with Pastor Jerry Matt officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville, W.Va. Eileen was born on December 6, 1918 in Oklahoma City, OK the fifth of eight children to parents Theodore Franklin and Carrie (Ferguson) Hatfield.  When Eileen was a young girl, the family returned to their roots in West Virginia where Eileen lived out most of her life. Eileen was a godly woman, wife, and mother.  During her life she was a well-known children's Sunday School, VBS, and Pioneer Girls teacher.  She was also an excellent gardener, creative problem-solver and, perhaps due to having five brothers, very good at sports.  Eileen had many interests, and excelled in sewing, cooking, canning, crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader.   All who remember Eileen cannot help but think of her loving husband, Cecil, who preceded her in death in 2003.  Together Eileen and Cecil served the Lord faithfully in their local church, Grace Gospel Church, Huntington and were a godly testimony to all who knew them.  They are well remembered for their generosity and hospitality, as well as the visitation ministry with which they both served.  Their happy and loving marriage spanned 56 years.  Cecil affectionately called Eileen “my Valentine,” referring to their anniversary of February 13, 1947. Eileen was preceded in death by parents Theodore and Carrie Hatfield, husband Cecil Romine, and siblings Sterling, Marshall, Russell, Erskine, Sidney Ivan, and Wanda Hatfield.  She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children Cecilia (Romine) Swindler of Springfield, Ohio, and Van Romine of Siler City, North Carolina, and her brother Ted Hatfield of Huntington, West Virginia, as well as their spouses, five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren, who all knew her as “Mamaw.” Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2010 at Henson Mortuary, Barboursville. A memorial service will also be held at Oakwood Village in Springfield, Ohio on Saturday, September 18 at 2:00 pm.  A memorial gift may be given to Bible Centered Ministries, International, Attn: Memorial for Eileen Romine, P.O. Box 249, Akron, PA 17501.
